SOUTH MOUNTAINS STATE PARK
I have never hiked with a backpack so this trip was quite stressful to mentally and physically prepare for. Fairly certain Eric had planned this trip as a little dating test, to see if I would/could handle the wilderness and camp without any hiccups or too many complaints. I definitely complained but I pushed through the pain and made it to the top.
Before I launched myself on what I didn’t realize would be the hardest trail I have ever hiked in my life, we ate lunch at the picnic area. Eating a sub sandwich might not have been the best idea because I felt sick after about halfway up. It was because I was out of shape not because of the sandwich! Whew.
WATERFALL AT UPPER FALLS
I made it through the night! Coffee, breakfast then packed and headed down the what seemed like never-ending stairs on the other side of the falls. A short, tough and exhilarating hike.
