Our 3rd Annual Trip to the Charleston Area
This trip is one I look most forward to every year in late November. Celebrating Eric’s birthday with a trip to the SC coast is perfect for us. This is the one trip that is just us two doing whatever we want with no distractions. First stop as usual, Revelry Brewing rooftop.
Market Square: lots of fresh produce, artwork, jewelry, live music, and people watching. Grabbed some freshly made pasta, coffee, and some butterbeans.
SULLIVAN’S ISLANd proposal
Little did I know Eric had big plans for us today. As usual, we had lunch on Sullivan’s Island, this time at 450 Pizza. Afterwards we walked the beach to our spot in the trees and put up the hammock for a little relaxation. He rustled in his pockets as we sat side by side watching the waves crash and people play with their puppies then pulled out a gorgeous sapphire ring and asked if I would marry him. I was so surprised and of course said yes!
Eric had already made 3 reservations at different restaurants in preparation for the days events. We settled on a late dinner at Husk. After enjoying a wonderful dinner we headed to the Griffon Pub to seal our proof like so many others into the walls on a dollar bill.
THE DAY AFTER
Page’s Okra Grill has some of the best home cooked southern style dishes for breakfast, we absolutely loved it. We ordered crab cakes and chicken & waffles. Burning off some of those calories at Shem Creek was our next stop. Then off to downtown for some more walking.
LAST QUICK STOP
Doughnuts are my weakness and I had to make one last stop at Glazed before hitting the road. I didn’t miss the rush so I was able to snag some holiday flavors like caramel bacon and cranberry pistachio.
COMING HOME ENGAGED!
Needless to say our upcoming holiday season is going to be filled with CONGRATULATIONS and smiles! Yay :)
